Dr. (George) Wallace is an Associate Professor of Natural Resources at Colorado State University in Ft. Collins. He teaches courses in protected area planning and management (from wilderness to open space areas), land use planning; and the human dimensions of natural resource management. He does research on protected area and ecotourism impacts, wilderness management, and public involvement in resource decision making. He has done training and provided technical assistance to a number of protected areas, agencies and non-governmental organizations in the US and Latin America.. He is a member of IUCN's World Commission on Parks and Protected areas.

Closer to home, the Wallaces also farm 13 miles north of Ft. Collins where they try and practice what they teach. Dr. Wallace is active in local and state land and resource issues serving on several boards and commissions.
