arth day 2008 is here and challenging environmental issues---climate, water, forests, energy--- are a reality that appear in our daily newspapers and impacts our lives and communities. What are we going to do to help our communities address what some have called this looming planetary crisis?

As students, faculty, and professionals who are interested in natural resources, it is our responsibility to help individuals, communities, and nations respond to these environmental challenges. How can we start? What steps do we need to take ourselves to develop or improve our stewardship skills, to make sustainability factual, to assist within our own working and learning space, to help develop and reflect on our own desired future or within our greater communities to help weather the challenges?
